Mental Health Warrior Scholarship

Greetings, 2025 Mental Health Warrior Scholarship applicant! Apply below for a $500 Scholarship from the Franki Moscato Foundation. The deadline is April 30, 2025.

This Scholarship is available to all Wisconsin graduating students seeking a post-graduate degree. The purpose of this scholarship is to deputize you as a Mental Health Warrior who will assist a fellow student with abnormal depression and/or signs of suicidality. It might mean you stop what you’re doing and give them a compassionate ear to listen to and validate what burdens them. It might mean that you facilitate their ride to the Emergency Room. Or, it might mean that you stay with them while they call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Hot Line while a worker on the other side of the call finds the right resources.

All circumstances of despair are different, and we hope you can offer peer assistance when a situation arises. We are all vulnerable to temporary opposing forces in our travels of life. We hope your experiences described below can empower you to save a life.

5. Three out of four young people that have taken their own life have told at least one peer or friend that they are struggling mentally. What exactly would you do for a friend if they came to you with this sort of struggle?
