Taylor Scout Smith

Amazing girl in the seventh grade. –Definitely footsteps to follow… see more of Taylor Scout Smith on my Inspiration page. Here is another video celebrating Taylor.
Here is a project where I helped my class write letters to themselves like Taylor did.

About Franki Jo

I would say that I'm best known as “that Oshkosh girl who sings around the state.” The question I most often get is, "how old are you?" --I'm 19. While I perform at many public and private events around Wisconsin, Packers’ fans first got to know me when I sang our Anthem at Lambeau Field when I was 11. I love acting and have been doing it since I can remember. I have been cast in several films and award-winning music videos. You can find my activities here or on Facebook and Instagram. It would please me for you to attend one of my performances--invite your family! I can never have enough friends, so please register to my website and email me any time!

I’m Taylor Scout Smith’s grandfather (Poppy). I just wanted to thank you for the outstanding video you did to tell people who Taylor was and what she represented. God Bless you, Franki Jo!

Thank you Poppy (hope that isn’t rude) that means so much. See the email text below–I continue to work on promoting your very special granddaughter. Mrs. Clinch told me yesterday that it’s a GO! I will keep you posted. God Bless you back! And God Bless Taylor. Love Franki

      Hi Franki!
You sure are always thinking of good ideas!
I have only just read your letter and have not clicked on the links, yet. This is a possibility, Franki, because we will be doing a letter-writing (formal vs. friendly) unit in Study Skills in about a month!
      Hmmm…
I will give it some more thought and talk it over with the other 6th grade teachers!
      Thanks for the cool idea!
      Mrs. Clinch=)

      Dear Mrs. Clinch,
I have a question to ask you and I know you are busy so I thought to write it in an email.
You might have seen on the news the other day about a 7th grader in Tennessee who passed away. She was a very out-going spiritual person in her town. Her family found a letter that she wrote to herself that wasn’t supposed to be opened for ten years. Here is a news story if you are interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ3fNwZfuso
Well, I know that you probably have all of the school year figured out with the assignments that you want us to work on. But I thought that maybe you would consider a project for Taylor. The assignment would be for each of us to write a letter to ourselves. Actually I already wrote mine. See here. https://frankijo.com/?p=854
I was thinking that I could lead this assignment and tell the class the story of Taylor and then we show the news video. I could help brainstorm what kinds of things we would want to write in our own letters and write the ideas on the white board. Then we stop so we can all think about it for a day.
The next day, we all work on our letters. Well I was thinking that we could notify the local news station that OMS was doing this to help promote Taylor’s cause.
It is OK if you don’t think that this is a good idea. Or maybe it is a good idea but not right for OMS. I’m totally OK with that. I have been in some contact with Taylor’s mom and dad and told them that I would ask you.
      Thank you, Franki
